Mobile numbers in the Philippines that begin with the prefix 0940 or +63940 were originally assigned to Sun Cellular. However, due to the implementation of the Mobile Number Portability (MNP) law, users can now switch networks while retaining their original mobile numbers. This means that, although a number begins with the 0940 prefix, it might no longer be under Sun Cellular.
